January 2010: January was a busy month. I started this blog, for one thing. It was so much different than it is now. It took a little time to settle into a writing style and just be myself when I write here. Celia had her one year doctor's appointment and her first birthday that month too. Unfortunately Celia and I both got sick that month. She had RSV, an ear infection, and a touch of stomach flu. I caught the stomach but just in time for her birthday and we had to postpone her party.
February: I started to disclose bits and pieces of what a weirdo I am with this post about my proclivity for naming things, and my nicknames for Blub and Pita. I also began leaking juicy secrets about my marriage. I set exercise goals for myself, as I hadn't gotten into a routine after having Celia. Speaking of Celia, she was getting more and more active- walking, climbing, getting into things. She was keeping me very busy.
March: It rained, and rained, and rained. We got tired of being indoors. We repaired our washing machine. Spring arrived, and we started being able to enjoy weekends outdoors with Celia.
May: I bought mom shoes. Oh, the humiliation. I had a traumatic experience with a dead chicken. Pita tried to run away. I introduced our town. The weather was beautiful, I planted more flowers, and we played outside.
July: Running took over my life, and I loved it. Marathon training kicked into high gear, and I wrote a lot about running. This was my most memorable July long run. We had an afternoon at the beach for Chris's birthday. Celia's now famous sunglasses made their very first appearance. We had a big long weekend with our first time staying in a hotel with Celia, a road race for me, and a visit to my parents in New Hampshire. I wrote my first Miscellany Monday post. Those posts have become some of my favorites to write.
August: Pita and I took our first trip without Chris, for a summer visit to my parents. I wrote about my favorite neighbors, the arm holders. There was some baby-related sleep deprivation. I did my first 17 mile run, and then an amazing first 18 mile run. We had more nice summer weekends, and Pita got some fun new things to play with. I exposed my most embarrassing moment ever to the world. I had my 31st birthday. I also had an oil change.
September: I went back to work, but it stayed HOT! I had a failed attempt at a 20 mile run, and then a
success! We had a great labor day weekend. Continuing my habit of disclosing bizarre bits of information about myself, I wrote all about hobbit houses. We went apple picking.
October: I started the month with some foot pain and was concerned about the marathon. I had a very special visit with Dr. Dreamboat and found out everything was fine. Then, I ran my first marathon! Pita went trick-or-treating for the first time, dressed as a little grey kitty.
December: Chris's Grandma passed away and we spent a lot of time with his family that week. Pita got her new dollhouse. We got all decorated for Christmas. I stole a parking spot from a little old lady. Pita started refusing to take baths, but we finally got her to love baths in her new bathtub. And, we had Christmas.
It's been fun to look back and remember the last year!

happy new year!
