a doable day

Last night I decided that today would be a sick day. My work days really wear me out, to the point where I'm pretty much miserable by the end and feel like a night's sleep isn't enough to recover. So I decided to give myself a 6 day weekend. With Monday as a holiday, I don't go back to work until next Wednesday! Anyway, it was a good decision. I only used a half day of sick time and got to have a day that was both restful and productive. After Chris and Celia left for daycare I was noticing all the housework to be done, but forced myself to just sit for a while and rest. After that I did do some cleaning, and of course started having contractions but it was time to stop cleaning anyway. I made a trip to target, had to stop by my old school building to pick up some things, and then had a dentist appointment.

By the time I got home it was almost 3:00 and I thought I'd just work on some laundry until it was time to get Pita, but Chris ended up calling. He was out of work early on his last day of his job, and wanted to celebrate. So we went out for a drink and a snack, and then picked up Celia. She made herself very busy playing when we got home. She played by herself for a long time with her Little People. I still love listening to her play because she comes up with all kinds of stories and says the funniest things. I tried to get a picture of her, but she would not look at me. At one point I was just walking by and she told me to leave her alone! Haha. I half love those times, because it means I can do my own thing, and half hate that she doesn't want me.

I was still exhausted by the time I got Celia in bed tonight, but today was so much better than when I have work. Normally I would have sore feet, back and hips and have contractions in addition to the exhaustion. Going to try getting to bed a little early tonight, too. Only six more weeks or so to get through. If I need to use up a little more sick time before my leave, and that makes the end of the pregnancy more bearable, I definitely will!
