33 weeks and random stuff

Yesterday marked 33 weeks.

Slowly but surely getting there. There isn't much that's new this week. My reflux has gotten worse and I've been taking a lot of Tums. The thing is, if I don't eat too much the reflux seems to be better. I don't have a huge appetite these days anyway. However, I seem to get lightheaded lately and I wonder if it's from not enough food. So then I try to eat more, but don't feel like eating and that isn't much fun. Other than that I'm feeling about the same. I still have quite a few Braxton Hicks contractions and they're not always comfortable. With Celia, they were always just painless tightening of my belly. This time around they tend to be crampy and feel like actual labor contractions. Sometimes I kind of wish they would get to be too many so I could stop working early. On days when I work a full day, I kind of barely make it to the end of the day.

Yep, still hate my job :D. It's not a good feeling to dread going to work in the morning and spend your time there just wanting to go home. I'm going to start bringing things home in preparation for my leave, just in case I did go out early. There's no way I'm going back there for anything once I'm out!

I have a bad cough. I just had a contraction, coughed really hard and peed my pants a little. Good times.

Last week at Pita's music class we played big drums. The teacher always has the kids play the drums in different ways, and one way was to play with just the pointer of each hand. It was a bit of a coordination challenge for Celia and took a while for her to figure out how to isolate just one finger. Later that day we were reading a book and Celia was moving her fingers around, looking at them. I thought maybe she had something stuck on her hands, so I put my hands over hers to wipe them. She looked at me and said in a very quiet voice, "Wait. I'm learning." I realized she was trying to practice isolating her fingers like at music class. The way she said she was "learning"? It was so gosh darn cute.

Another cute thing is that we got The Kissing Hand from the library the other day and Celia loved it. She sometimes has trouble with me leaving for work in the morning, and wants me to stay home with her. I know that she loves her daycare and is always happy there, even if mornings are a little rough. It still makes me feel terrible when she doesn't want me to leave, especially when I'm leaving for a job I can't stand and would much rather stay home anyway. So I thought the concept of the kissing hand would be good for her. Sure enough, she loved the book and when she didn't want me to leave on Monday morning I asked if she wanted me to give her a kissing hand. She smiled and nodded, and was perfectly happy to say goodbye to me after that. Later when I picked her up she showed me how she could put the kiss up to her cheek, and when I asked her what that meant she said with a big smile "Mommy loves me! Mommy loves me!" Cute, cute, cute.
