calm before the storm

Apparently we're getting some rain and snow in the next couple days. Hopefully it will be mostly rain! Today we took advantage of some nice weather while we could. When I got Celia from daycare, I found out the kids had played outside after lunch. They were having such a good time that nap time was pushed much later than usual, so Celia had a shorter nap than normal. We went home to play outside some more before dinner.

Celia told me she wanted to go for a stroller ride, but we only made it a short distance before she wanted to go home again. We checked the flowerbeds and played ball. Pita was so cute when she saw the hyacinths that are coming up. She thought they were pineapples! They do kind of have that shape and texture. We're finally seeing a little progress with the flowers coming up. I also planted more tulip and daffodil bulbs last fall, and they're slowly starting to grow.

After inspecting all the plants (Pita wanted to know what each one was called), we played ball for a few minutes.

Then Celia started showing how tired she was, after having such a short nap. She insisted on repeatedly throwing her ball on the driveway (which leads to it rolling into the street and down it- it's a big hill), and plopped herself down on the grass when I explained why she couldn't do that.

We went back inside, and she's recovering some energy with a little pre-dinner snack while I cook. Hopefully I can keep her busy and happy until bedtime!

  1. Celia is getting so big (and so pretty)! It is so fun to watch children discover spring with new "older" eyes.

  6. No coats and budding plants? That's just so wrong to have snow in the forecast again.

Haha, Enily does the same thing. Once it deteriorates into me chasing the ball down the driveway and into the street, it's game over.

  7. Short/missed naps = toddler meltdown in our house when Emily was that age. I envy you that all Pita gave you was a pouty face! ;)

    Good luck with the storm!
