2) Celia got a little red car as a party favor a few weeks ago and she became attached to it. She plays with it, carries it around with her, and always hands it to Chris or me when she goes to bed at night to make sure we'll take care of it for her until she gets up.
3) The in-laws got Pita some more cars, but she only likes the red one. No interest in the others. A perfect example that less is more.
4) I did try getting her interested in them by drawing out a little town for the cars to drive around. It was definitely one of those activities that was more fun for me than for her...
5) We have a new addition to the family! Meet Stella Steamer.
After a few years of consideration I finally got a steam mop. It really is fantastic. Using only water, I can spend half the amount of time cleaning the floors and get them twice as clean. Supposedly the steam also sanitizes the floor. Chris thought I was a little nuts to be so happy about Stella, but he admitted that the floors looked really clean when I was finished.
6) Now that spring is here I'm waiting, and waiting, for warmer weather so we can play outside. I just checked the extended forecast. How depressing. This week will be cold, but dry. Next week will be warm and the perfect temperature for playing outside. It will also be raining. Bah!
7) We decided that when it's time for Celia to give up her binky, the Binky Fairy come to take her binkies and leave her something else in exchange. The only problem? Celia is way to smart to fall for this! She knows that she's too old for a binky, but she just can't give it up. Last night I mentioned the Binky Fairy to her and explained what happens, and as soon as I started talking about it Celia totally tuned me out and ignored me! I mentioned it again in the morning and she seemed kind of excited about the idea. She thought it was like Santa Claus bringing her presents, so maybe it will work out after all...
8) One of the grocery stores near us has kid-sized shopping carts. We went yesterday and Pita got to try one for the first time. It was pretty much the cutest thing ever.
She likes to have her own shopping list, so I always have her "write" a list to bring to the store. She was taking it out of her pocket and checking it :)
9) I just finished reading Water for Elephants. Somehow I never got around to reading it. Great book. I finished it in no time.
10) I got Celia a few things for the summer and next fall at a really good sale last week. The Outfit of the Week came out of Celia's insistence on trying it all on at once.
