turkeys and monkey bread

I had to stop for a flock of turkeys on the way to pick up Celia this afternoon.

Turkey in flight!

Whenever I get Celia from daycare, they tell me how good she is and that they wish all the kids could be like her. She's such a good girl! We went home and played, and I made sweet dough and set it to rise. I'm making monkey bread for my speech therapist friends. We're having a surprise birthday breakfast for one of us in the morning and I'm pretty excited that there will be a yummy, gooey vegan item on the table!

After dinner Celia played upstairs while I took a shower and got in pajamas. We came back downstairs and I've been able to sit for a few minutes because Celia is busy playing in her kitchen and serving food to all her animals. We'll play more and then read books before her bedtime. Hopefully she will sleep well tonight. Last night she didn't make a peep until 3:30 in the morning, and then she was awake and inconsolable unless I was in the room with her. I gave in and we slept together for a few hours. I had to leave her in the bed when I got up to get ready, and I was a little nervous about leaving her alone. She was fine! China was sleeping on the bed with us, and when Celia woke up I found her just sitting up in bed patting him. It was so cute. I can picture China being glued to Celia's side and snuggling with her at night once she moves into a bed.

Tonight I'll dig into the newest House Beautiful that came today. It looks to be full of spring-y color, which sounds pretty good right now!

  1. Oh, no... Celia not sleeping well? Any clue why? Good luck getting back to a great night's sleep!

I've never read House Beautiful... might have to pick up an issue of that! As if I need one more magazine addiction, ha!

  2. I need that book for inspiration! I'm sorry the sleeping is not going well, we've had a rough go here as well, with both boys having coughs.

  3. Those turkeys are monstrous! I hope the sleep thing was short-lived. Those kids just keep us hopping, don't they?
