out and about

This morning we woke to (what else?) new snow on the ground. It would be pretty if I weren't so tired of being stuck at home almost every day lately. Luckily it got pretty warm (yes, I consider 30s warm) and the roads melted quickly.

Celia and I had a really nice morning. She slept well last night and even slept in until 7:30 this morning. I get up around 6, so I had plenty of time to get woken up, eat, watch some news, get dressed, and even start a load of laundry before she woke up. Pita watched a little TV and had breakfast. I think she has seen a couple new shows at daycare, because she asked to watch Thomas and Caillou at home. Luckily they're PBS shows I don't mind her asking for. After that, Celia played in her kitchen while I made us a banana oat cake for morning snack. You can see the recipe here- it's healthy and so good! Great snack for kids.

Pita had a grand old time licking the bowl.

Celia had a bath, and by the time that was over it had warmed up and the roads were clear. We went on a little adventure to try a new indoor place place. It had jungle gyms and slides, bouncy areas, and little cars the kids can ride down ramps- all just Celia's size. It's a great place for her. Of course I forgot my phone at home, so I couldn't get any pictures of her there. We'll go back again, though.

We got home around noon and had lunch, then played and read a couple books. Celia went down for her nap at 1:00 without a fuss! I'm telling you, if all our days were this easy my job would be a piece of cake. I tidied up, did some housework and folded laundry, and got dinner prepped. It's so nice to be able to get out that Pita and I may even go somewhere again this afternoon! I can't wait for spring and summer when we'll be able to get out all the time.

  1. I love days like this one! They seem very infrequent for me right now, though - ha!

  2. Oh, you just have to love those easy going days! I think God gives us a sprinkling of them here or there just to keep us sane. ;) The snow is so pretty, but I'm sure you're sick of it! I know I would be. Heck, we're fixing to get dumped on for the *second* time and I'm already grumbling. ;)

  3. Oh my...I cannot imagine thinking 30 degrees is warm!!

And I am going to HAVE to try that green smoothie! I make a smoothie every day, and I usually put kale in it. I'll grab some spinach next time I'm at the store! = )

Oh, and nope, not a single fireplace is working! They are all blocked off! = / I guess its both good and bad!
