nap time shenanigans

 This morning we spent a long time at the window, saying goodbye to Daddy.

Then we set to work re-organizing Pita's kitchen. I pushed it against the wall to make more space, and added some storage bins we've had sitting around. Normally this area is a complete mess with no organization. I'm constantly trying to pick things up because Celia leaves things all over the floor and fills up the sink with dishes and food. You'd think I was raising a hoarder. Anyway, I showed her how she could keep food in the refrigerator, and how we could put food in one storage bin and dishes in the other. She played along to humor me, but make no mistake: We were back to disaster area status ten minutes later.

I also showed her how she could use her baskets to play grocery shopping, since she's been doing that a lot. I love how she carries the basket on one arm just like I do.

So, Pita played in her newly renovated kitchen while I had a cup of tea,

and scratched my neck while considering a different outfit. My sweater was itchy.

Then we went to our first music class of the winter semester. Celia did really well! She participated a lot and caught on to the new songs really quickly. On our way home we stopped at the store to get one thing I forgot the other day, and got a green juice to share as a treat. It's funny to me that Celia loves healthy stuff like that. We had a bit of a meltdown in the car on the way home. Pita woke up early this morning, and she was getting tired. She ended up falling asleep in the car. We got home and played for a while, had lunch, and read some books before nap time. Ah yes, nap time...

Apparently I did indeed jinx myself by mentioning her sleep yesterday, because it took Celia over an hour to fall asleep for her nap today. Now I'm hoping that she'll at least stay asleep for a while. Chris will be home late, so we still have a loooong day ahead of us!
