dazed and confused

That title does not relate to my post from Tuesday night. I'm talking about my sense of time. Because this has been the first week of a new summer schedule, I've been so confused about what day it is. On Wednesday I had to work so hard to remember it wasn't Friday. Today I just can't wrap my head around the idea that it's Friday, and that the weekend is almost here. Hopefully next week I'll be a little less confused. I think I need to write everything down so I can get the visual input of seeing each week in front of me.

Celia and I did go to the farmers' market yesterday, and we came home with some beautiful strawberries and rhubarb. While we waited for Chris to get home, I made strawberry-rhubarb cobbler while Celia cleaned the kitchen.

Today we visited Chris at work and went out for lunch. Pita knows that Daddy goes to work every day and she spends all day saying "Dada work". But, she didn't have any concept of what "work" means. Now she'll know where he is all day. She had a great time at lunch, and spent more time talking to people than eating.

She made quite a scene calling "Hi! Hewwo!" across the restaurant to everyone she saw. And it was quite a novelty to see Daddy in the middle of the day, so he got plenty of big smiles.

By the time we headed home from lunch it was getting awfully close to Pita's nap time. She was pretty cranky in the car and kept telling me she was tired and had a "stinky diaper". It was not the smoothest car ride we've ever had... It took a while to get her to sleep once we got home.

Today is such a beautiful day. We will definitely be outside this afternoon, hopefully after a nice long nap!
