barbeque and baseball

We've had a busy and fun weekend. Yesterday I had my weekly long run, Chris went for a run, and we did some chores around the house. Then we went to a party that had been planned for a few months. There were lots of kids, and Celia had a great time. Until, that is, she found me holding the littlest baby- a 3-month-old little boy. She really wasn't happy about that!

This morning Celia and I took a nature walk on a walking trail in our neighborhood. It's really nice in there, and we brought home a collection of nature objects to show Daddy. Then we all went to a nice playground near home.

We went home for lunch and Celia was exhausted, so she had her nap a little early. I ran a few errands while she was sleeping. I also ordered groceries online to be delivered tomorrow from the store we usually shop at. I've never done this before and am very excited about it! It will save me so much time, and Celia and I can do something fun rather than drive 40 minutes and spend all that time shopping and putting away groceries.

After Celia's nap we went to a baseball game! There's a minor league team that plays near us.

We actually only lasted two innings at the game. It's not easy keeping a one-year-old corralled in a small area, and she had no interest in sitting on our laps. It was also very hot with no shade, so we were a little worried about Pita getting overheated. We finally ended up keeping her occupied for an extra 15 minutes with some ice cream, and then headed home. Minor league games are so easy to attend, inexpensive, and have so many activities and fun things for kids. It will be really fun to go when we have kids who are older.

Back at home, I did some work in the kitchen and made dinner while Chris played with Celia in the living room. At one point I looked in and came across this scene, classifiable as a disaster area.

Notice the golf on TV, husband reclined on couch (with a beer), and that the baby is nowhere in sight. Hmm... After dinner I got some yard work done (still more to do- I've fallen behind) and then put Pita to bed. She now has to say "night night" to everything she can think of while she has her bottle. It's so cute.

Busy week ahead! I can't believe I was thinking summer vacation would include free time.
