Every day I think about blogging and plan what I'll write, but never end up actually doing it. Oh well. Life is busy.
We had some snow yesterday. It was probably about 5 inches and was just enough to be annoying. Tomorrow we're getting a bigger snow storm. Not sure what will happen with work and school. I'm so tired of snow storms. If they would heppen on days I don't work, it would be fine.
In other news, Henry thinks he has a mustache. He talks about it all the time. While eating: "I have food on my mustache." In the bath: "Don't wash my mustache!"
He is such a character these days, and he's suddenly talking in full sentences and using so much new vocabulary. Today he called me a silly goose. He also said to me, "You make me happy." Which was nice, considering that he's also getting bossy and had told me earlier, "Don't say 'no' to me, Mommy." Well, then!
We had Celia's birthday party with her friends on Sunday. It was at The Little Gym and we really liked it. I was a little afraid it would be like a birthday party factory, but the staff were great and we were impressed with what a nice clean place it was and all the activities they did. If we can find it in our budget, I'd love to have the kids take classes there. The party was very structured, rather than those where the kids just run wild the whole time. We have resisted having a party away from home because it just seemed excessive and impersonal, but now I think we see the beauty of having a party at a party place. Ha! The kids had a great time, we literally did nothing to prepare other than bringing cupcakes and party favors, and we had nothing to set up and clean up at home. And the parties are pretty bare bones, so they're not really excessive at all. Speaking of the cupcakes, I had fun making them. I saw some sugar butterflies at the craft store and got the idea to make the cupcakes into flowers.
What else is going on here?
We randomly lost power a couple more times last weekend. I was out grocery shopping and Chris was home with the kids. He texted me that the power was out. So annoying. Luckily it did come back on after about an hour. When we lose power in the winter we're always playing a guessing game; Should we start the generator and light a fire, or will the power come on soon?
My Facebook page showing what we eat on a plant-based diet with meal plans, ideas and recipes is growing slowly but surely. I will give you the name so you can find it if you ask me!
Speaking of a vegan diet, my friend Erica (my one vegan friend) texted me on Saturday that she was at Marshall's and found the new Isa Does It cookbook for only $7. There were only two copies left so she got one for each of us. This is the sign of a good friend :). So she and her daughter came over today to play with Henry and me, and I get to check out my new cookbook during nap time. It is big! Lots of new recipes to read.
A mustache?!?! hahaha that's awesome. Very cute!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the flower-shaped cupcake platter, adorable :)
