monday miscellany

1) We've been having kind of terrible weather for a week now. Too hot and/or too humid, mostly rainy.  On one too hot morning last week I took the kids to the mall play area. We never go to the mall, but it was great. We got there just before the stores opened and the kids' area was empty. They played for a half hour, we walked around and went in a couple stores, rode the carousel, and went home for lunch. When the stores opened and Celia saw all the gates going up, I explained the stores were opening and she said "Why are there stores here?" Ha! We have literally never shopped in a store at the mall with her, so I guess she had no idea that's what malls are for. Maybe she thought it was just for playing and walking around.

2) Today was my first day working as a fee-for-service clinician at my job. I used to be salaried. My schedule is more flexible, I'm done earlier in the afternoon, and it is great!

3) Trying to use a crock pot more this summer. I like the idea of dinner being (mostly) ready ahead of time.

4) With all the rain and little sun, my garden isn't doing a lot right now. Kale and swiss chard are enormous, some flowers are looking nice, and we've had a few beans.

5) I had some time with Brother Boy on Sunday while Chris and Celia went out to a playground. He's such a sweet little guy. And he is 19 months now! I missed writing that post. Must do it this week.

6) They were accidentally wearing matching outfits on Saturday and they were adorable. I need to dress them like this again and try to get good pictures.
