monday miscellany

1) Luckily Henry's hand, foot and mouth wasn't bad for too long. He had a fever from Thursday afternoon until Friday night, and woke up Saturday fever-free. 

2) I have nothing to say about this. Just a cute picture.

3) My garden is starting to get going. Kale is pretty well established, peas and tomatoes are on their way, bean plants have blossoms. 

4) On Friday I got the water table set up. Celia and Henry played and had snack on the deck. 

The only problem is that Henry is currently obsessed with going in and out of doorways that involve steps. So all he wants to do is open and close the slider and go up and down the step to the house. It gets old really fast. 

5) We have a vegan restaurant right in our little town now! Chris has been before, but I had never gone so Celia and I went on Saturday morning. We love it there! I can't wait to go back and try the lunch menu. 

6) Saturday was a fun day. After Celia and I had breakfast we went for a walk with the stroller and then she came with me for my hair cut appointment. Then we met Henry and Daddy for a picnic lunch at the park. The library is nearby, so we went there too and got some books. And later in the afternoon we went to a fireworks festival in our town. There were bouncy houses, slides, and a train for kids. We went early and went home again for dinner. It will be fun when the kids are old enough to stay up for the fireworks. 

7) Henry is really into playing with cars. He spends so much time with them, and can entertain himself for a long time with his cars and parking garage. Chris got Henry some Matchbox cars and a carrying case. Chris likes them as much as Henry does. And yes, Henry is wearing his winter hat on a ninety degree day. He always goes to the hall closet and finds his hat.

8) Good stuff in the current issues of my favorite veg magazines. Especially Veg News. 

9) Today marks two years since we bought our house.
