It's Sunday afternoon. Henry is napping. Celia is sitting with me watching Daniel Tiger. Chris is leaving later to watch football, which was actually a blessing in disguise because it meant I had to get things done earlier in the day. So all my cleaning and packing for tomorrow, and most cooking is already done for the day. You guys probably wonder what on earth I do spending so much time at once in the kitchen all the time, but I tend to do lots of cooking ahead and lunch planning on weekends so I don't have to cook during the week. On weekdays, I almost never have to cook dinner. Just take out of the fridge or the freezer and get it ready. Now that I'm back at work, it's the only way I can handle it all. I pack lunch for Celia on school days, and breakfast, lunch, bottles and snack for Henry when he's at daycare. Add our dinners and my own lunches, and everyone's bags and backpacks, and it's a lot of work. I can't wait for the kids to be older so it will be a little easier.

Anyway, we have had an okay weekend. My parents were here on Friday, which is always nice. I think we all look forward to Fridays a lot. At least the kids and I do. On Saturday I did some cooking and cleaning, we played, Celia went grocery shopping with me, and then we drove to meet Chris's family halfway for dinner. We found a new shopping area with some restaurants that's an easy drive and not too far for anyone.
I don't think I've put up this picture yet. I think both kids are starting to look more like me.
This morning Chris took Henry to Home Depot, and Celia and I stayed home. I got more cooking finished and Celia and I played various pretend games the whole time. She likes pretending to be people visiting each others' houses. The living room is one house, and the family room is another.

Okay, time to go give Pita a bath. I'm trying to make it so all I have to do is play with the kids and feed them dinner later :).
Making ahead is such a great way to balance a busy schedule and eating healthy. Kudos to you for taking the time on the weekends. That's awesome.
