snow day

We knew it would snow a few inches last night, but we were not expecting a snow day! Most of the area schools were closed, and Pita's preschool was cancelled so I had to stay home with her. What a tragedy. Since Henry's daycare is just down the road and we have to pay no matter what, we figured he would be just as happy being there so Chris dropped him off this morning and Celia and I had a day at home. We baked, built a house with her bricks, did some cleaning, played in the snow, and had hot chocolate and noodle soup for lunch. Pita did some painting, drawing, and cutting. We tried a new activity that kept her busy for quite a while: dropping colored vinegar onto baking soda. It fizzes up and she liked mixing the colors.

Celia hardly ever has long, uninterrupted time without Henry so I think she had a great day. It was nice to have a full day with her so we could spend plenty of time having fun, rather than me rushing to get housework done. Henry Boy is most likely playing and having a great time with his girlfriends at daycare (it's him and a handful of girls there, pretty funny), having a great nap, and playing more. Pita and I have to go get cat food at the vet now and then pick him up.

  1. She looks adorbs in her piggie tails! Her hair is getting so long and I love how it's so thick and curling up cute! What a fun day with your girl! Snowman is uber cute ya'll did a good job! Snowmen, noodle soup crafts, all warm fuzzies sounds like an amazing day! Wow you always have the best ideas! I am gonna have to try that with Kelcee I am sure she will love it! Do you just dye the vinegar and then spoonful it into a baking soda pan? How fun!
