- I have a couple job offers- still speech therapy but much different than working in the schools. We have to weigh the pros and cons of each position. Hopefully I'll have a decision made by the end of the week and can get started soon on something new!
- If I start a new job, maybe I can afford some new pants that don't fall down. Or buy a belt.
- Celia is driving me nuts today. She has no school because of Yom Kippur. I had an interview this morning, so the kids both went to daycare and I picked them up before lunch. Now I'm wishing I'd just left them for the rest of the day. Pita is still at the awkward point where she's transitioning from taking naps, and at this time of day she gets so hyper and cranky and annoying, just at the time when I want to just sit and relax for a few minutes.
- The last few days she has also been wetting her pants, and when it happens she doesn't tell anyone so I then discover later that she's all wet and her clothes stink. It's really great. I'm going to start a small reward system to get her back on track.
- This dude is going to be ten months old on Friday. I can't believe it.
- I'm trying to come up with more things for Henry to eat, because he really only wants table food and doesn't like purees anymore. He likes being able to feed himself. Today I gave him some wheat-free pasta (not giving him wheat quite yet) and he liked that. I also got some barley to try.
- I did grocery shopping today. I have a plan to try something new for groceries. Near us there are plazas with Whole Foods and Market Basket right across from each other. You could not find two more different grocery stores. My plan is to get as much as I can at MB because the prices are low, and then supplement with organic produce and the few specialty vegan things we use from Whole Foods. I think this could be a money saving combination. Only problem is, going to two stores is a pain.
- Market Basket is sort of a discount grocery store. I don't know what the equivalents are in other parts of the country. Comparing the clientele at these two stores is kind of fascinating to me. Whole Foods is so fancy and clean, and the people there are obviously well off. Market Basket is full of regular old people. People who aren't rich, aren't dressed up and aren't worried about how they look, and are just being themselves. Sometimes at the foofy places you get the impression people are trying to make an impression. That's annoying. Also, the grocery store in my parents' town is a Market Basket and I am fascinated by the fact that the store I went in today smells exactly the same as the one at home. How do stores do that? I would go in there just for the smell.
- I am so weird.
- I can't stop taking pictures of the little people in the stroller lately. They're cute when they're strapped in a confined space together and can't get in trouble. Sometimes when we're walking, I look down and see their little heads snuggled together.
I love their eyes. Henry's are so blue, and Celia's are like mine, more green. With Chris having dark hair and eyes, it's interesting that both kids ended up so fair and blue-eyed. As Celia says, "We all have blue eyes! Except for Daddy. Poor Daddy..." Haha!
Henry's awake from his nap. Time to go.

They are both so cute. And those blue eyes will be a big help with the ladies someday! Ha!
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah!
ReplyDeleteI have been nearly invisible from my blog (and yours) for over a month now and it seems I have missed out on so much. I'm sorry to hear you are out of work and wish you the best in your job search! Henry is SOOOOOOOOOO cute, I love that smile of his and Pita is as cute as ever of course. I had quite a time potty-training Emily, she was over 4yrs when it finally happened and the random accidents didn't stop until this last year and she's now 6! Hang in there.
