what's been going on

What a beautiful weekend we had. On Saturday we took a picnic lunch to the playground, and after naps went out for dinner and walked around.

Sunday was a gorgeous day. Celia played outside all morning, Chris did some work outside, and I vacuumed my car and did some garden stuff during Henry's nap. Then we went to a festival at a nearby farm sanctuary. I was very excited to go! Being a farm sanctuary, the people there are obviously not fond of mistreating animals so it was basically a vegan event. I was so excited that everything was vegan, and I've never been surrounded by other vegans before so that was neat. There was even a dairy-free ice cream truck. We walked around, got some free samples, a local guide to veg restaurants, and Celia had her face painted and played a cute little game. For lunch there were veggie dogs, mac and "cheese" with broccoli, and of course I could not wait for some vegan soft serve. Celia couldn't wait either. She has definitely inherited my sweet tooth.

Let's see, what else is going on? Lately, during dinner every night Celia says, "Thank you for the delicious dinner, Mommy."

Henry has his six-month check-up today. I'm curious about how much he weighs now, and I have a feeling he will need some shots which are never fun...

Henry has a new favorite book.

Can you believe we're already almost halfway through June? The end of the school year means my very long maternity leave is almost over. I still don't know what school I'll be working at in the fall, which is very annoying. They are supposed to notify us by the end of the school year, I think, but I doubt that will happen. I just try not to think about it because I get totally stressed when I do.

Celia is visiting a preschool today and staying in the classroom for an hour without me. I think she will probably have a great time! I'm sure she'll do fine without me there, but I do wish I could just be a fly on the wall because I would love to see her in school.

I'm looking forward to more beautiful days playing in the yard.

The garden is coming along. Blossoms on the pea plants, and berries on the blueberry bushes.

Yesterday Pita was playing in her pool, and water was running off her suit and down between her legs when she stood up. She looked down at the dripping water and said, "Oh no, I hope this isn't pee." Ha! She was so serious too.

  1. Your kiddos are too cute for their own good! Adorable, adorable pictures of them together.
Loooove garden fresh peas! We've never been able to get them to grow in our red dirt and heat, but my FIL always hauls in topsoil and his grow beautifully! Too funny about Celia in the pool, they say some of the funniest things!
