monday miscellany

1) Henry is 14 weeks old today. I ended up making some progress getting him to sleep in the crib this week. We haven't done night time because for now it's just so much easier to have him in the same room as me. For naps, I put him in the crib whenever possible. If we're out of the house and he falls asleep, he just has a short nap in his carseat. Or if he's really tired and fussy and the crib hasn't gone well, I'll let him nap in the stroller once in a day. Otherwise, it's the crib and we're making some progress.

The other night we got a video of Henry laughing. I was talking to him and he just kept cracking up. He has the cutest little squeaky laugh.

2) Henry is getting more consistent at having his morning nap in the crib. I never realized that it feels a little stifling having him with me literally all the time, until I got to experience periods of time with him upstairs in his crib while I got to be downstairs by myself. It's so much different than having him sleeping in the same room!

And this? Two baby monitors, two kids napping in their own rooms! It was only for 30 minutes, but it was glorious.

3) Chris tried espresso recently and it became his newest obsession, so he now has a cute little stovetop espresso maker and this teeny tiny cup and saucer that I think are the cutest things ever. I have no interest in drinking espresso. I like a big cup of coffee I can enjoy for a while. But I do wish I had a use for that cute little cup...

4) I realized I should really start pumping to save milk for Henry when he needs bottles. Right now he never has them. I think he's only ever had three bottles, but eventually he'll have more and when I return to work I'll need milk saved. I have to pump at least three times to get enough for one feeding, so it's a lot of work. Once I go back to work I have no idea if I'll be able to keep up with what he needs.

5) There is a new assistant at Celia's daycare who does a lot of arts and crafts with the kids. They've done some really cute things, but one of my favorites is just a painting Celia did. I thought it was really good.

  3. Love the baby laugh ... that is the best.

Delighted to stumble over here today. I hope you don't mind if I splash around a bit to get to know you. This looks like a refreshing place to dip my toes in goodness.

    Splashin,
    Sarah

  4. Very cute! I loved when my son would paint or draw. They also make good presents for the grandparents, aunts, uncles etc. by framing them. They love them!
