1) I'm 30 weeks pregnant today. Big number! There isn't much to report this week. I feel fine; just feeling bigger of course. There are some things that I avoid a little more than before, just because I'm bigger and heavier. Getting up and down from the floor when playing with Celia isn't the easiest or most comfortable thing anymore.
2) Celia is doing so well with using the potty. She does have occasional accidents, but for the most part we can trust her to know when she needs to go and get to the potty on time. She is still pretty dependent on getting rewards, but we're going to phase that out. I've already mentioned to her that soon the treats will be gone and then she'll use the potty when she needs to like a grown-up, without any rewards. She does like getting verbal praise, so hopefully that will be enough and we can phase it all out.
3) I thought I was feeling okay about making it through November at work, but after the weekend the reality that my new job is still awful has come flooding back.
4) We had our first good fire in the wood stove on Saturday night. The last time we tried it didn't end up working out. We had a room full of smoke instead. We just need to make sure we have really dry wood. It was really nice to have a fire and I'm looking forward to using the stove all winter.
5) I came upon the best fort Celia's had so far the other day.
Good thing I never wanted a "formal" living room, because this is how it ends up most days.
6) Pita found a set of play dishes with some toys I brought home from work, and she has played with them non-stop for a week now. She does all kinds of things with them. Lately she's been putting two bowls together on top of one another to make a "lunch box", and she puts things inside :)
7) Oh, and that silly binky. She now goes upstairs and gets it herself without me knowing. Or sometimes she'll say "I'll be right back. I just have to get something." And of course it's her binky, but she doesn't want to tell me that because she knows she isn't supposed to have it. She is pretty good about putting it away when I tell her to, though.
8) Celia really like school buses and always talks about when she'll get to ride one someday. She likes to pretend she's wearing a backpack too, and yesterday she said she was going to school. So I went with it and we played "school" for a while. We did a number puzzle because I've been trying to get her to recognize arabic numerals. She knows all the letters of the alphabet, I think because they have more meaning, but she still doesn't know numbers very well. Anyway, she liked "school" so maybe I'll come up with some more school-like activities.
9) I finally have an idea for colors and what to do with the new guy's room. Just have to finish the walls so I can get going!
10) We were outside on Saturday and it was such a beautiful day, and Pita was looking so cute, that I took some pictures. It sure is hard to get good ones of her these days. She's always on the move.

30 weeks? Time is flying! Pita is so cute! I've always wanted a wood stove. It looks great in your living room...how does Pita do with it? Thats my biggest reservation with switching ours out.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics, and she is so photogenic. Good luck at work these last several weeks. Hopefully it improves!
ReplyDeleteI'm having some serious wood stove envy right now!!! My parents have a wood stove, and I just love it. Of course it's only used about 3 months out of the year here, but I would so love one someday. Love the Pita pics. It is SO hard to capture them at this age, I totally agree. They are just far too busy to be bothered. ;)
ReplyDeleteAh, 30 weeks! You're getting so close :)
ReplyDeleteAnd she is so pretty!
Have a wonderful evening!
Wow 30 weeks, a new stove and a beatiful family! Sounds like you're busy and lucky! Congrats on the little one soon to come! Great blog, am a new follower :).

Wow - I can't believe you are already using the fire place! It is still hot here - not as hot - but hot just the same.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't worry about the binky too much because when the baby comes she might just take his - happened to me with B and I had to re-take it later on~ ;) I just didn't want it to be a negative with him to associate losing it with the baby coming.
You are in the home stretch!
