at home

Celia and I are home together all day today for the first time in the new house. We have delivery and oil service people coming, and those darn time windows they gave us basically mean we'll wait around all day. I can't wait for all the new-house appointments and installations to be over with. Pita slept a little late and woke up after 7:00. I got myself up earlier and got all ready. It was a nice sunny, chilly morning. I love cold mornings in summer.

(Also love summertime morning light.)
When I woke Celia up she got in bed with Chris and he told her some Chester and Zucchini stories. She is always asking for them. Pita played upstairs for a while and then we went downstairs and Chris left for work. Celia and I played with her dollhouse for a while. Her pretend play is so cute now. She comes up with all kinds of stories and makes the little people and animals have conversations.

Celia wanted to watch Caillou but I couldn't get the new DVR to work, so we watched Super Why on PBS for a little while. We had never seen it before, and she kept calling it "super weird"- haha! It was such a chilly morning that I hadn't gotten her dressed yet so we finally did that, played some more around the house, and played in the driveway. She loves drawing with chalk and she's actually starting to get the idea of drawing a person. She can do a rough circle, makes marks for the eyes, nose and mouth, puts lines for the ears, and can make lines for hair. Celia had lunch and made me tell her Chester stories the whole time she was eating :). Then we played on the deck and inside until naptime.

Pretending to be a kitty.

It's been our first normal day at home since we moved. Chris is on his way home early and we will probably head outside when Celia wakes from her nap. Looking forward to a long weekend!
