weekend

The sun came out on Friday afternoon! Celia and I played outside for a while. She has been using her magnifying glass, which is pretty cute. She just walks around looking through it.

I decided to have the Binky Fairy come on Friday night. No sense in procrastinating any longer. We ended up taking away the binkies in our cars and leaving Celia a little stuffed lamb in each car. The fairy came in her room at night, left some glitter fairy dust on the floor, and replaced her old binkies with new, very thin, orthodontic ones and a little lamb lovey. (Yes, I wimped out and just gave her different binkies that are better for her teeth. My only worry about her having a binky is that her old ones were affecting her teeth, so if the new ones are better I really don't care if she still sleeps with one. We'll give it up completely when she's ready, and we have a lot of big changes coming up so it might be nice for her to have that security.) I waited until early morning to make the switch, because I knew she'd wake up when I took the binky out of her mouth. So, I basically took it away really fast, had the new binkies in the crib with her, and when she woke up I showed her that the fairy had come. Celia had the biggest smile on her face. She did ask where her old binky was, but she accepted that the Binky Fairy took it. I kind of made a big deal about the new binkies, and she said she liked them.

Saturday was mostly a nice day. We had to get the condo ready for a rental showing, so Chris left with Celia so I could clean. Then we met at Panera for a snack while our realtor showed the condo. It would be really nice to get a tenant soon. Celia played outside when we got home and didn't want to stop for lunch. She finally came in and I talked her into having a "snack" of peanut butter and jelly. It was a little work getting her to take a nap without her old binky. She didn't ask for it, but I think she was just having a hard time going to sleep quickly without it. She slept just fine last night, so she's already used to the change. By today she had no trouble without the binky in the car either.

On Sunday morning we went out and came home in time for lunch. Celia was in a great mood all morning. We thought about going to an open house before her nap, but decided not to chance her falling asleep in the car. Even though we think things will work out with the new house, we're trying to keep our minds open to the idea that we may have to find a different one. After lunch Celia and I started reading books before nap time, but she was kind of acting up. Finally she told me she just wanted to go have her nap :). It's really cute when she does that, and that she knows when she's ready to have a rest. Chris did some packing while Pita had her nap. I was too tired, so I've mainly been sitting around growing my fat pregnant belly even bigger. Maybe we will try getting outside this afternoon. It's cloudy as usual, but at least it isn't raining.

That's about all the news. We're just keeping busy, not thinking too much about the new house. It's hard because we want to start planning things and packing up, but we don't know what the sellers will offer to fix, whether we can afford the house if they don't give us enough, and how much we'll have left for furniture. Hopefully that will all be answered in the next few days.
