Celia woke up a little before six this morning, and we got in the bed in her room to snooze a little longer. She just lay there and indulged me in a snuggle while I relaxed half asleep for ten minutes or so. We got up, went downstairs, and Pita watched Sesame Street while we had breakfast. Chris left for work while Celia and I were playing with her dollhouse.
I rearranged the rooms and removed some furniture to make it easier for her to use the house without destroying its contents, but she still has a little trouble. She's like a bull in a china shop! She does love the house, though. Just doesn't get the concept of keeping things in their places.
At some point I told her that Grandpa was visiting today, and she immediately started looking out the window for him! She also said "I want to tickle Grandpa! I wanna ask Grandpa for a hug." Haha- lucky Grandpa!
She kept playing while I cleaned up the kitchen, and I heard a big crash. She had pushed her dollhouse off the table and onto the floor! It's a big dollhouse and pretty heavy, so I was very concerned that something must have broken. Nope. It was all fine, just a mess with everything strewn over the floor. I tried explaining to Pita that she needs to be very careful with her house, and gentle with everything. Not sure if that hit home. She's definitely a 2-year-old! I also don't know if she did it on purpose. It could have been accidental. Anyway, I moved the house to the carpeted floor in Celia's room where it will be safer.
Celia had her bath...
...and played in her room while I did some re-arranging. My plan is to move more of her play things to her room once we have more space with the twin bed in and the crib gone. Then she can spend more time playing upstairs, although we'll have to reduce the binky time if we do that. Right now we have a rule that she only gets her binky upstairs (which isn't very often).
Grandpa arrived, and I got a good workout on the elliptical before we all had lunch. We also talked to my mom on the phone. She's in San Francisco for a week (and even eating at a vegan restaurant) and I'm jealous! Celia took a two-hour nap while I got dinner mostly prepped, and drooled into my cup of coffee while reading this recipe, and then this one. Can't wait to try these soon! I must say, I have a big girl crush on Angela. On top of that, her recipes never disappoint :D.
Celia's awake from her nap and playing dolls with Grandpa, so I must go. It's cold outside, but so sunny that I might just take a walk to check the mail.

I gave you a blog award on my latest blog post. Thanks for being a new follower!
ReplyDeleteWow, glad the doll house didn't fall on her or break! It sounds like it will be much better on the carpeted floor :) Yay for Grandpa time! I feel like my kids got majorly ripped off in the Grandpa department...but I'm thankful they didn't in the Grandma one!
ReplyDeleteShe is a cutie pie!!
