monday miscellany

1) It's the last day of February, and I can't say I'm sad to see this month pass. It wasn't a bad month, but I'm just ready for spring! March will bring that a little closer.

2) Speaking of that, we still have some big snow piles but they are shrinking and I think the snow covering most of the yard will be gone soon.

3) Oops, scratch that. It snowed yesterday.

4) Once in a while, some little thing that Celia does or a small change we make reminds me of how big she's getting. This week, it was undershirts. Pita's onesie undershirts have gotten small, so I went to get her some 2T undershirts. 2T undershirts aren't onesies. They're real little girl ones: sleeveless, with a bow at the top and scalloped edges, like I remember having when I was little. No baby clothes for Pita anymore.

5) Speaking of moving to bigger clothes, Celia also started wearing her 2T pajamas last week. She started complaining that her feet were squished in the 24 month ones. Anyway, her new pair has bunny feet and when Celia wakes up in the morning she says hello to each foot :D

6) Last week was school vacation. Today I return to work. Good to be back to our regular schedule, but bad that I have so much to do and some not-fun things going on at work. As you read this, I'll probably be doing something like taking part in a meeting I've been dreading for weeks...

7) Because I'm pining for spring, I recently got the idea that it was time for Pita to get a tricycle. We were planning to get her something for this year. I can't wait for a warm, snowless day to take her outside. For now she's been having a great time using it in the house.

8) Speaking of Pita, Chris has been setting up college savings funds for her. The other day I walked by his laptop, and look what was up on the screen along with another tab for the college savings fund:

Ha! He's already a proud daddy, planning for Harvard.

9) We visited Chris's family and had dinner on Saturday night. Pita had a great time, and she even slept in a bed over night because she didn't want to be in the crib! She slept all by herself from 8 until about 3 am, and then she called for me and I lay with her until she fell asleep again. She did really well.

10) Outfit of the Week:

She spotted Nonna's rollers and had to have them in her hair.

  3. We had so much fun last summer with Deaglan and the tricycle! It's a great thing for expending all that toddler energy. I too find it so hard to go from one little growth the next. I didn't realize how attached to the boys' clothes I was until I was sorting through a few weeks ago and was almost in tears folding some of them up that no longer fit.
