buried

Ya know how I said that we had so much snow it was making me feel claustrophobic? It just got worse.

12 inches of new snow last night. We now have more than 3 feet of snow, and because they're running out of places to put it there are mountains of snow that make it look like even more.

And so, this is the last straw. I dedicate this post to snow. We surrender.

It's so deep that I no longer hold out hope of seeing my grass, shrubs, or other plants before June.

The snow has reached the level of the deck, and higher.

Let's not forget these gnarly icicles.

I'm off to hibernate.

  1. Oh my goodness! That would totally drive me insane. Not to rub it in, but it's in the 60's today and we played outside without jackets on. *duck and run* All jesting aside, I hope it melts before June!

  3. Our environment is pretty close to yours these days. What a beautiful family picture!! To answer your question about that cookbook, i would say, no it's really not that great. There are a lot of expensive ingredients required for a lot of the recipes - things I can't imagine using in anything else anytime soon. We've tried just on our own to hide purees into our toddler's food. He can't be fooled. Shaune made meatballs and mixed spinach and peas into the mix. OUr son refused to eat them and asked if he could have the 'old' meatballs. He was referring to ones that came out of a box. Sigh.

  4. Holy cow, only something I have ever seen in photos! Growing up in South/Central Texas, I have only seen snow twice in my 31 year lifetime and it was literally just a few inches on the ground that melted as the day went by. ha :)

  5. It's fun to throw the cat or kids out in it, as long as there isn't an icy crust on top, then just the kids get tossed out. Can't be accused of animal cruelty after all!

I still expect you to go for a nice long run and report back, by the way!
