monday list

It's time again for a Monday brain dump! I actually felt like there wasn't much in my brain for this post. Not sure what that means.

1) Celia has started to be afraid of things. It's cute, but I also don't want to see her scared. She never used to be scared of anything, but lately she's frightened of sudden noises. Last week we had a thunderstorm, and after one loud rumble of thunder Celia ran to Chris needing to be picked up. I asked her what was wrong and she said "Thunder! Thunder!". Poor thing.

2) Fuzzy pajama season is nigh! We've had two nights so far that were cool enough for fleecy footed pajamas. There's nothing cuter or more snuggly.

3) I always have a running list of books to read, and lately I've been seeing The Hunger Games series talked about all over blogland. Has anyone read these books? Any good? They don't sound like something I'd like, but I said that about the Twilight books and then ended up loving them.

4) The weather is supposed to be in the 60s all week! That sounds so nice. We went for a walk today and it was cool enough for jeans and sweatshirts.

5) Yet again, Celia's little kitty is turning up in interesting places. I'm starting to notice that kitty's sort of like that garden gnome that turned up in pictures all over the world. Anyway, on a recent afternoon I gave Celia a snack, went into the kitchen for a few minutes, and returned to find this:

That would be my Pita trying to make a phone call while her kitties eat her snack. I did not stage this picture. She has her kitties do everything she does :)

6) Oh, and speaking of cool fall weather- we're up to our ears in apples after the weekend's visit to the orchard. I need ideas for things to make with them! I'm thinking about freezing a pie, apple bread, apple spice cookies, and maybe making applesauce.

7) Last spring I took some great pictures (if I do say so myself- ha!) of Celia on a bench at the park. I thought it would be fun to take more now to compare how she's grown.

In April, at age 14 months:

Just a baby! Hardly any hair, baby face and cheeks. Still so little!

And the end of August, age 19 months.

SO much bigger!
She looks so different! But still no hair. Hmm...

I can't even imagine what she'll look like in another 6 months.

8) This week is the first full week back at work (a full week for me being three days). Blak!

9) And, Chris's classes have started up again (he's getting his MBA). This means very long days for both of us, but he only has two more semesters to go!

10) Hmm, no number ten? I guess that's all, folks! Told ya my brain didn't have its usual thought volume today :D

  1. I am so very jealous of your weather in the 60's! This week we are in the lower 90's!! I can't wait for it to cool off!!!
I just found a recipe for praline apple bread that I'm going to attempt to make. My daughter is begging me to make apple pie again...I don't know which one to do first! Love Celia's pictures...she is too adorable!
