Time for Miscellany Monday! This is starting to be one of my favorite blogging days, because it's fun to list things that are happening and read what other people are up to as well.
1) Thanks for the nice comments on yesterday's post. Most bloggers end up with negative comments at some point. This person visited my blog with the intention of finding something negative to say. Clearly it's normal and very common to leave a toddler's potty in the most-used part of the house. It's the most sensible and least disruptive way for kids to start training. Little kids also learn and rehearse new routines through pretend play, and leaving the potty in the living room gives Celia the chance to put her stuffed animals on the potty and pretend to go on it herself. She loves that.
2) I've been battling my first ever case of poison ivy for a week now. All because a speeding driver couldn't be bothered to slow down and pass me safely during one of my runs. I ended up in the bushes and must have come in contact with poison ivy there. Now it's all over my body and I think I have to get medication from the doctor to get rid of it.
3) Celia hugged our cat China the other day while saying "China! My baby". Awwww.
4) And her love of grown ups' shoes continues to grow. On Friday I took her booster seat apart to clean it. She entertained herself for at least 20 minutes by sitting in the seat and trying my shoes on.
5) Our homeowner's association has a meeting this week to vote on increasing the size of our board (which would be a good thing). Chris has been charged with getting proxy vote forms signed by our neighbors who aren't attending the meeting. So yesterday he rang doorbells to get signatures. Half our neighbors didn't even answer their doors. Mind you, these are mostly people we know and they still didn't answer their doors. Another person was totally ignorant and untrusting- had no interest in the meeting, didn't care what it was for, and said "I'm not signing anything". Wow. We have such a strong sense of community here. Way to go, neighborinos!
6) My long run went so well this weekend and I feel great. Except for a new and intense pain on the bottom outside of my foot. Hopefully it won't last long. I just have to finish out a few weeks of training injury free.
7) Speaking of feet, I have special orthotics for running. Celia took them out of my shoes the other day and I caught her wiping her nose on them. Little booger.
8) Ever since a suspected fisher cat ate poor Grey Cat, I've been a bit obsessed with fisher cats. They are scary! Last night I heard a creepy high-pitched cackle/scream coming from the woods. I think it was a fisher cat. It was not a coyote or fox. I went to YouTube to search for fisher cat sounds and came across all kinds of people who thought they heard fisher cats. It was actually hard to find an actual fisher cat soundbite because of all the people posting audio of fighting house cats and owls. Owls? Seriously? You thought an owl was a fisher cat?
9) I've started putting Pita's Halloween costume together. She's going to be so cute!
10) Fall premiers are starting up this week! I hardly watch tv, but do get excited about the shows I watch. Chris and I are trying to decide if we should start watching Mad Men this year.
I am so glad you started joining in on miscellany mondays too! You always crack me up and your wit and great writing skills makes it such a fun read! No worries about the bad commenter chicka...like I told ya yesterday I keep Kelcee's potty in the hallway it is easier for her to get to and we don't like her to have access to our bathroom without us yet so we keep it locked!! I have lots of meds in a locked medicine cabinet hanging on the wall but we still don't want her in there alone....
