another monday...

Another Monday and another peek into the random inner workings of my mind!

Thing Number 1: My feet are starting to look a little gnarly from all this running. The other night Chris poked at a callus discolored by the blood blister that used to be under it, with a completely disgusted look on his face. "What are you doing?" I asked. "Trying to see if it was a growth or if it was something attached, like an animal, snoozing" he replied.

Oh, and I did consider posting a picture of said callus since this post could use some images, but decided to spare you. It really is interesting though.

Thing Number 2: The other day I discovered this website:
www.antiquehome.org. If you love old houses, this is a treasure trove of information! There is so much to look at. I haven't even scratched the surface yet.

Thing Number 3: What is the deal with skin tags? They're creepy. I think I found a tiny one inside my arm the other day. Chris has one that I named Boo Radley. I always joke that he's "just tagging along". Bad joke, I know. But funny nonetheless. Again, I'll spare you a picture.

Thing Number 4: This was a great magazine reading weekend because both Us Weekly and the September Cooking Light arrived. I sure do love magazines. Although, I'm sad to report that Cooking Light has lost some usefulness now that I don't eat meat.

Thing Number 5: Last night while I was making dinner, Celia found a stack of paper plates in the pantry. She took them all out, a few at a time, and sorted them!

Thing Number 6: The back to school countdown nears an end. This is my last week of summer vacation, then back to work. I still have a lot to get done, and there's a whole post about that coming tomorrow.

Thing Number 7: After a lot of running, it feels great to have a step-back week this week. Less running also means more time to get other things done in preparation for back-to-work.

Thing Number 8: Speaking of more time to get things done, I'm running errands by myself this morning while Pita's at daycare. It's fun to take her out, but so much more relaxing to go by myself!

Thing Number 9: Nutella. I've been trying to kick a Nutella habit. It's not vegan, and even if I weren't cutting out animal products it's still completely unhealthy. I had finished my last jar when Chris came home the other day with a brand new one for me! DOH! It was very thoughtful of him because he saw it was on sale and knew how much I liked it. But, I swear this will be my last jar. Veganomicon has a recipe for "Not-tella" that I really want to try. Just have to get the ingredients and find the time.

  1. Skin tags are creepy indeed. How come they didn't give us a class on getting older and all the weird things that would happen to your bod.

I have the same problem with Oreo cookies. I don't by them, I resist. Then my wife comes home and has a package as a special treat for me. Thanks a lot! Dang!

My sister was disgusted by a photo I posted on FB yesterday of a bag o' fish guts some jerk through into the field next to our house. Maybe I should have gone your route and just verbally explained it instead of giving the visual. LOL
