still alive

So, I don't have much to say and it hurts my fingers to type. That pretty much sums up why I haven't been writing much. I still have hand-food-mouth disease. Which, in case you missed a previous post, is not nearly as gross as it sounds but is still pretty crappy to deal with. It's just a virus. A really stupid, annoying virus. I have it much worse than Celia did. I spent a few days with a fever, mostly lying around and sleeping when possible. After the fever goes away, you're left with the "hand-foot-mouth" part, which are blister-like things that cover those parts of your body. And they hurt. And they're in my throat so eating anything is painful. I've lived off of smoothies for a couple of days. Last night I started eating some solid food again. Because my hands are covered in these blister things, it hurts to do pretty much anything. I was hoping to try a run tomorrow, but I'm not sure what will happen because I've now gotten them on my feet! I might still try because I'm nervous about missing a long run in addition to a week's worth of running. Tomorrow's 15 miler is an important run. It's hard to enjoy anything right now because I'm in constant discomfort. But, I will try to distract myself this weekend and do something fun- even if it's just sitting on the deck with a book.

  1. Ugh, that stinks for you! I've thought a couple of times that my 2 year old had that, but it never festers into anything except a blister here and there. I think one time I was overreacting because he'd gotten a blister from his sandals.

I don't know if I'd advise a 15 milers with the blisters on your feet, but I also completely understand the urge not to skip runs, the long ones especially. If you go, I hope you feel okay.

I'm blog hopping today. Happy Friday!
