hump day

This week is such a busy one that I'm not necessarily in a hurry to get through it. But, hump day it is! It's a pretty gloomy day today- a perfect day to stay inside and wash diapers. Fun stuff! Actually, aside from the diapers we're having a great day just playing at home. We also took a walk and went to Trader Joe's this morning to stock up on, among other things, Celia's new favorite snack of apple-carrot sauce. Celia met a little boy her age in the store. She spotted him and toddled around to the next aisle to follow him, calling "Boy! Boy!" Turned out he liked her too, and they spent a few minutes smiling and waving to each other. By the time they parted ways for good at the check-out, they were blowing kisses. Young people's relationships sure move fast these days.

Although today is cloudy, Celia got her hands on a pair of sunglasses I've been saving because they were too big.

As you can see, they are completely ridiculous.

But awfully fun to play with.

Celia also became a little obsessed with the landscaping men working outside today. She loves trucks, so their truck had some pull too. She must have spent half an hour watching them out the window and calling "Man, man! Hi!". Then she wanted the man to come inside and play with us. At one point she lay down with her blanket, wanted me to lie with her ("Mama down") and then said "Man down". Um, how do you explain to a one-year-old that that would be just plain creepy?

She is just so friendly and loves everyone she meets.

I'm scheduled for a six mile run today, and the only time I have is this evening. Not my favorite time to run, but it won't be too bad if I leave as soon as Chris gets home. And to think that this is an easy, low mileage step-back week. It's weird that running six miles is just a regular old no big deal kinda thing for me now. And that eventually my weekday runs will be a breezy eight to ten miles. Yikes. I try not to look ahead on the schedule, otherwise I freak out a little. Oh, and I just watched the finale of The Hills and am so disappointed in the ending. Does anyone else watch that show? I was hoping for a happier ending between Kristin and Brody, but I suppose with all those story lines left unfinished MTV has plenty of fuel for a brand new show.

Time to get my running gear together while the Pita's still napping.
