We had such a yucky rainy day today. More flooding too in our area. So, we entertained ourselves inside. We did get out to Target to get a few things. Good excuse to try out Pita's new raincoat!
While at the store I decided to look at some toys that Pita could push around now that she's walking a little. You know those Fisher Price popcorn popper push toys? I put Pita down in the toy aisle with one so she could try it out. So we were walking down the aisle a little and she kept stopping to look at other toys. She wasn't really walking much. This lady came by, gave me a weird look, and said in kind of a condescending tone "She'll be ready for that some day". I had no idea what she meant by that so I smiled, nodded, and moved on. Then in the next aisle a man stopped to admire Celia and said "How old is she? About six months?". Um, yeah. Double that and add two... Then I realized that the lady must have thought Celia was just a little baby because of her small size. She probably thought Celia would never be able to use the push toy and I had no idea what to do with my child! How embarrassing. And how rude. It amazes me that people have no qualms about critiquing a stranger's parenting skills.
That excitement over, we went home and had lunch (trying to learn to use a spoon). Celia had a very long afternoon nap. In fact, I ended up waking her because I was afraid she'd ruin her night time sleep. I procrastinated, then finally did some homework. Unfortunately I did not work out during her nap, and now I regret it. I was just feeling tired and lazy with the rainy weather.
Tomorrow's goal is to fit in a workout no matter what!
Your baby is a doll. We have our first grandson and I am loving every min of it. As a grandma, I know that these days go by so fast and then they are gone forever... enjoy your little one everyday. Thanks for visiting my blog , it was so nice to see you there.
