14 months

Celia Rose is 14 months today.

She weighs around 17 lbs 8 oz, and wears some size 12 month and some 18 month clothes. She only has three teeth- two on the bottom and one on top.

Pita is starting to walk a lot more now. She can get halfway across our living room by herself, and always wants to walk around holding someone's hand.

We are constantly amazed at how her language and cognitive skills are developing. She understands pretty much everything we say, to the point where we have to watch what comes out of our mouths! I stopped keeping track of how many words she uses because she has so many. In the last couple of days I think I heard her trying to imitate 2 word phrases too. Her latest word is "thank you", and she says it whenever we give her something and also when she gives something to us. Nice to have her reminding us of our manners :). She is very social and says hi to everyone she sees when we're out. She loves going to daycare and playing with the kids. There's a younger baby there, and today she was in a rocking seat and Celia would go up to the seat and rock the baby :). She has also started to tell us when she needs a diaper, which is WAY early! I'm already starting to wonder when she'll be ready to potty train.

Celia is developing nice pretend play skills. She plays with her doll house, moving the people around and using the furniture, putting them in vehicles and pushing them around. She also loves her new kitchen and spends time taking things in and out of the oven and refrigerator and pretending to eat and stir. She still loves to hug and kiss all of her dolls and animals, and sometimes mommys them a little.

Another thing that's new is that she loves to "help" with household activities. She knows what household objects are used for and likes to try them out herself. Just today I saw her hold my cell phone to her ear (she only says "hi" and "bye" so far), point the remote at the TV, move the dustbuster across the floor while making vacuum sounds (hee hee, so cute!), and use Swiffer pads to clean the kitchen floor.

Lastly, I'm finding lately that I love her more and more every day. She is the sweetest, most adorable little thing I've ever known. She is so happy and full of personality. I can't wait to see what she'll be doing next month!

Now I'm all teary. What a sap.
