On Saturday morning, Chris took the kids out for a while. I went to Whole Foods and just took my time looking around and getting some things I normally don't get to buy. Whole Foods trips are rare. We all got home for lunch, and then Henry wouldn't go to sleep at nap time so we got him up and spent the afternoon outside. Henry did remarkably well, hardly getting cranky at all after no nap. I need mulch for one of the flowerbeds, so we went to a garden center in town and I found just what I wanted. Unfortunately we have to pick it up ourselves and it isn't bagged, so we're gradually making trips to fill a big barrel with mulch and bring it home. Let me tell you- going to get the mulch is an extremely fun activity for Celia and Henry. They get to see a Bobcat scoop up the mulch, dump it in the barrel, and then pick up the barrel and lift it to be put in our car.
Sunday was Mother's Day. We didn't do anything too special, but it was another beautiful day and I wanted to go for a long run and work in the yard. I had a fantastic 5 mile run. I like it when my runs get long enough to wander a little, try new routes, and stop to enjoy the sights. The roads around us are so nice to run on. Country roads with a lot of animals, lots of spots with running water in brooks, old stone walls, shade from trees. This is a beautiful place to be a runner.
We spent the rest of the day outside, with a little break in the afternoon. Henry did take a good nap, and went right to sleep without complaining as a special Mother's Day gift to me. The kids are having such a good time playing outside together.
Yesterday we were all back to work and school. I'm done with work at 1:00 on Mondays, and as part of my attempt to find a non-weekend time for grocery shopping I went after work. It was great because I had plenty of time and knew the kids were at school, so I wasn't rushing to get back home. Then I went to get Celia early, because she has been asking for me to come see her in dance class. I must say, I was impressed. Celia was the only one able to follow all the teacher's directions and pay attention to keep her rhythm while dancing. I saw the kids practice the tap number they're doing for their recital.

Your surroundings make me want to be a runner!!! :)
