A couple weekends ago, Celia and I went up north and went to Storyland with my parents. It was the first time I'd been away from Henry for three nights, but it was great. It was nice to have a whole weekend alone with Celia, and Henry was kept busy. Chris took him down to the cape to visit his parents, sister and our niece Kyla, and Henry had a great time.
Celia has gone to Storyland twice before this. The first year, she was only 2. She knew about the nursery rhymes and about Cinderella, and she had a good time but was still pretty young for it. And I remember we left by her nap time and she slept on the way home. Last year she went with my parents, and knew even more about all the characters she saw. She was very impressed with Cinderella, the castle, and the Three Bears' house and talked about them all for weeks afterward. But she was still just a teeny tiny little girl. This year, there was such a big change in her. She understood where we were going, knew what we would see, and had her own ideas about what she wanted to do. She liked the Cinderella castle but wasn't overly obsessed with it. She took everything in and enjoyed it, and then moved on. And no napping on the ride home. She's getting so big.

What a cool place! I wish we had something like that.
