weekend away
We are coming off of a lovely weekend away. Chris's parents stayed with the kids overnight while we went into Boston. We have gone away overnight twice since Celia was born, both for weddings. This was our first time going away just to have fun and give ourselves a little break. Boston is a short drive away and was home to us both for several years, so it's a perfect place to spend a weekend. We drove around the city, walked around our old neighborhoods (Porter Square, Central Square, Washington Square, Bunker Hill, Charlestown, Watertown, Oak Square, Coolidge Corner- phew!), ate too much food at vegan restaurants, went for a morning run in the Fens, and had a good night's sleep and a luxurious time ordering room service and sitting in our hotel room reading and watching tv. We stayed in Kenmore Square, with a view of the Citco sign from our room. To top it all off, the weather couldn't have been more perfect. Eighty degrees, sunny, dry air. It was just beautiful. When we got home, the kids were perfectly happy and Celia said she wants us to go away more often so she can have fun. Ha!

lol at Celia's comment - sounds like a definite win for everyone! :)
ReplyDeleteFinally hooked up with Feedly and found my blog friends! I have just caught up on your whole summer! I would LOVE your new job schedule! How wonderful that everything worked out so well for you in that regard.
ReplyDeleteI feel you on house renovations. I am truly getting to where I would rather move to a condo because I am exhausted at the upkeep. Wouldn't be so bad I supposed if I didn't have to work so much - boo!
Kiddos are precious as ever and growing SO fast!!!
It sounds like such a great trip. Good for you, it's so important to get away like that.
