| We went to the toy store because Celia wanted My Little Ponies. We got Henry his own doll too. He's a very good little Daddy. |
We've been having very hot, humid weather so we couldn't be outside a lot, but the kids played in the pool and we had a few outings. On Friday I thought Henry felt warm and he didn't seem to be feeling well. Then he had a terrible nap and definitely had a fever by the afternoon. I started giving him Motrin for the fever and that helped him feel a little better. We had a nice couple of days despite Henry being sick. Henry never sleeps well when he's sick, so we had a rough night and on Saturday morning he would not let me put him down. The poor guy was just miserable and finally fell asleep on Grandpa, which at least allowed me to go out for a walk and take a shower. We had lunch and the kids and I took off for home at Henry's nap time. It was a horrible car ride. Celia was very good at trying to help Henry and make him happy while I drove, but he did not sleep at all and spent most of the ride yelling "out!" or crying. Ugh. And I thought if I stopped at a drive-through for coffee it would at least make the ride a little more bearable, but the line was not moving and Henry was crying so I had to pull out and just keep driving. I had really been looking forward to that coffee... Chris was waiting at home and I got everything unpacked, ran a load of laundry, and we just ordered pizza for dinner. If you ever want to really mess with someone, call a pizza place and order a couple pizzas with no cheese.
Henry had another rough night last night and still had a fever this morning. We had arranged for Chris's mom to come watch Henry tomorrow since he is sick, and we thought it would be fun for Chris to take Celia down to his parents' today. She could go swimming, sleep over, and then come back with his mom in the morning. I figured Chris would drive her down and be back by late afternoon, but they hit bad traffic and then he stayed until night time before coming home. So, I was on my own with a very unhappy sick Henry all day until bedtime. Sundays are when I have to pack lunches, get things ready for the week, and usually cook ahead, but I didn't have time to do much because Brother Boy wasn't feeling well. I even burned the best part of our dinner- fresh peas we had picked from the garden. And then I needed to open a jar and couldn't get it open, so dinner preparation was pretty much the most frustrating thing ever.
Henry perked up and his fever was down before bed tonight, so I really hope he'll sleep better tonight and be better tomorrow.
