weird workouts

So.

I really want to fit back in my old clothes. I also can't wait to be back in good running shape and just feel good about my body, my health, and my fitness level. The only thing holding me back is that I have very limited time to exercise. Even when I do have time, I can't necessarily work out because I can't take Henry running or walking yet (need to get the jogging stroller out and functioning) and when he's sleeping I can't leave him to go in the basement and exercise there. His naps aren't consistent enough yet that I can count on getting a workout in on a regular basis.

Henry has been napping in the family room this afternoon. He didn't have a good morning nap, so he's had a really long afternoon one. I decided I shouldn't procrastinate any longer, and really should get some exercise. I'm in such bad shape that it isn't necessarily fun, but I have to start somewhere. I also wanted to clean the floors.

The workout:
- 1 minute of butt kicks


(I went on the deck for the cardio intervals. Wish I could have gotten out for a walk or run today!)

- 20 crunches
- 20 squats
- 1 minute of jumping jacks
- 20 crunches
- 20 squats
- 1 minute of butt kicks
- 4 reps of plank pose
- scrub family room floor
- 1 minute of butt kicks
- 20 pelvic lifts
- scrub hallway and dining room floors
- 1 minute of jumping jacks
- 20 crunches
- scrub living room and laundry room floors
- 1 minute of butt kicks

It was not the best workout I've ever had, but it was something. It kept me moving for about 35 minutes. And the floors are cleaner. I think I need to get into doing workout videos while Henry sleeps. Will try that next week.

  1. Henry is SO precious! I usually stick to walking or running as far as workouts go, but I like to change it up a little bit too- so I might be trying the workout you mentioned soon!

  2. Listen, anything you can do is better than nothing - way to go! I used to do wall push-ups when the kids were in the tub - ha!
