Henry is looking super cute, as usual.
Thing Two-
So is Pita.
We took her out for a short time yesterday (I'm limited by Henry's feeding schedule) while Chris's mom watched Henry. Celia got a ski/sledding helmet that will last her at least a few years. She looks like a little bobble head.
Pita and I also decorated cookies yesterday. She loved that.
Thing Three-
It's only been a week and we may have difficult patches ahead, but man is Henry a good sleeper at night! He is already going 4-5 hours between feedings once each night, and sometimes has another 4 hour stretch. Since he has been pretty consistent we decided to try putting him in the crib last night. We all slept so well! Henry slept in the crib from 11:45 pm to 3:45 am, had a feeding, and then slept from 4:30 to 7:00. I hope he continues to do well. He already seems to be falling into a schedule naturally.
Thing Four-
I started noticing that when I'm feeding or holding Henry, that's when Celia acts up the most. She really wants time alone with Mommy, so I've been trying to give her that as much as possible. I've also started quietly "disappearing" with Henry and doing his feedings in his room when possible, so she doesn't see me feeding him. She will be busy playing with Chris, and I'm just gone upstairs for a while. So far this seems to be helping her.
Thing Five-
This probably should have been thing one because it's so freaking funny. On Monday Chris and I stopped at a different grocery store than our usual ones, and there were some interesting characters working there. Our cashier, to put it charitably, was clearly not the brightest bulb in the box. And then this interaction occurred:
Cashier: "How old is the baby?"
Me: "One week."
Cashier: "Oh wow... And you're already expecting another one."
Me: Silence......
Seriously? How can someone not know that a) your belly doesn't instantly disappear when you have a baby, and b) that it's completely impossible to get pregnant again AND be showing a week after you've given birth? It was so funny and such a stupid thing to say that I couldn't even be offended by it.
Thing Six-
Okay, okay. I admit I did get out the scale that night to start weighing myself and see how much I have to lose :D.
Thing Seven-
Celia calls Henry "My baby", which is pretty cute. She told Debi at daycare that her baby wears teeny tiny diapers and cries a lot. Ha!

| She loves to hold him. Several times a day she asks "Can I hold my baby?" |

I am absolutely floored by that cashier's comment!
ReplyDeleteYour two little ones are completely adorable!
OK...WOW to that lady's comment. Your little ones are so adorable...I love Celia's hair. Cookie making sounds like a lot of fun and I'm glad you all were able to get away with your little princess :) And yeah for good sleeping so far.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS! Henry is too cute! It looks and sounds like you are all doing great. Celia looks like a very happy big sister.
ReplyDeleteThese are some of the sweetest things! (Except for that cashier who should be tarred and feathered)
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you are all settling in nicely to family of four!
