27 weeks

Yesterday I turned 27 weeks pregnant, entering the third trimester!

I'm starting to feel a bit encumbered by the belly and tend to get side stitches by the end of the evening. Regular things like vacuuming the house can wear me out or are just a little awkward with the belly, but everything's still doable. Of course, "regular things" for me means things like shoveling sand, carting 50 pound bags of it around the yard, and moving Celia's sandbox. Perhaps not the most normal third trimester activity... Unfortunately my foot is still bothering me, so I think I have to shop for work shoes that will fit comfortably with the pinched nerve. I went to the midwife today and also had the one hour glucose test. The little guy is already head down- smart kid! His little bum and legs are around the upper right side of my belly, which explains why I feel so much movement there. My belly measured at 26 weeks, which was normal. And I found out that I weigh exactly the same as I did at 27 weeks with Celia- interesting! I'm starting to wonder how big this baby will be, because Celia stopped growing and was a very small baby. It's my theory that because I'm a small person, my body isn't meant to grow very big babies. I would like him to be close to 6 pounds, at least. Celia was under 5 pounds when we brought her home from the hospital. It would be nice to avoid some of the small baby issues we had. She was so tiny.

This is a busy week. It's the last week of vacation, and filled with appointments and some things I need to do to get ready for work starting next week.

  3. For sure, it would be nice if he were over 6 lbs, if it means less issues and more peace for all of you. I am smaller, and my babies were in the 7 lb range, which my dr. said was big for me. Crazy how it all goes down!
