more unpacking

I was planning to work outside this morning while Celia was at daycare. My mom and I started preparing a spot for a vegetable garden and I wanted to work on it. I was also really looking forward to going after our big, overgrown boxwoods with my new pruning shears. But, we had thunder storms and heavy rain rolling through all morning and I was forced to do less desirable things indoors. There was a lot of laundry to do, I took a shower by myself (an unusual event), and I forced myself to go after some of the boxes we still haven't unpacked. What's left is mostly baby stuff and linens/serving dishes that we don't need right away, so I haven't been motivated to unpack them. Once I got started looking through all the bins, I ended up bringing our infant cloth diapers and a slew of clothes up from the garage. Oops. Now there's just more of a mess up here and nowhere to put them all because we aren't even close to setting up the baby's room... But how could I resist the tiny little suits, and the shirts with duckies on them? I couldn't.

I got Celia from daycare and they were already eating lunch, so I hung out there until she was done. She is just the cutest thing at daycare. She sits at the table with all the big kids when they eat, but she's so small for her age that she's just this tiny little peanut compared to the others. She's so good there too. Always well behaved, which is a bit different than it is at home! It took some work and extra time to get her to take a nap when we got home. I think we have to make nap time later than usual when Pita's at daycare just for the mornings. She seems to be a little wound up and not ready to transition to a nap, but at the same time she's exhausted and really needs the rest. Anyway, she is finally sleeping now and I will finish laundry and try to unpack more dining room stuff. If I can get away from the couch... the cloudy weather's making me tired.

  1. thanks for being so honest about celia and her meltdowns. it is nice and refreshing not to hear "my child can do this, so and so" or "my child NEVER does this" blah blah blah.

oh and onesies with little ducks? ADORABLE.
