vacation day

Today Celia went to her only day of daycare this week, and I took the opportunity to get stuff done. First on the list was to run an errand at the district courthouse. It's a derelict looking building full of derelict looking people. Blech. Anyway, I got that done and then did some cleaning and decluttering at home, took a walk, and had lunch. I'm also washing Celia's diapers again in yet another attempt to kill yeast. I thought I'd solved the problem with tea tree oil, but after wearing cloth yesterday Celia was itchy and had a yeast rash again this morning. Grrr! I'm giving it another try by washing with a cycle of tea tree oil, a cycle of oxygen cleaner, and drying on high heat. After that I don't know what else I can do. I don't want our diapers to be ruined!

It's cold and cloudy today, but my flowerbed is finally showing signs of life.

I can't wait for tulips.

Can you believe it's almost May already? Just another week or so. I sure hope May flies by because I can't wait for summer vacation.

I'm off to do some packing for a couple days away, and get things ready for dinner before I pick up Celia. I also just might see what's happening on Days of Our Lives today, since I have the chance :)

  2. Sounds like a lovely and productive day. I hope the diaper issue gets resolved. This blog (that I love) just did a big thing on diapering so I wonder if this will help:

  3. Yuck, it's never enjoyable having to visit any government agency. It always eats up a chunckof a perfectly good day too.

Have you done any potty training research? I was wondering what books are good to read. Our girls are about the same age, so you've probably been working on this already. I've just been lazy about the whole thing. Sometimes diapers just seem like the easier option. I need to get moving though.

  5. Oh, your beds are looking so pretty! I can NOT believe it is almost May, goodness, it's crazy. Really hard to believe it's been a year since my Hubby's brother passed, too. Can't believe it...

I have never dealt with yeast and cloth, but here is a good article.

I thought the grapefruit seed extract was interesting...

Have you added boiling water directly to your wash? Also, one bleach cycle may not cause diaper issues, and might fix the problem. Hopefully you can get it resolved, rashes are so frustrating!

  7. Good luck with the cloth diaper cleaning, we never used them so I'm sorry I am of no help in that regard. :) Oh! And I totally had to stop watching DOOL because the story was going nowhere, ha! Hope you enjoy it, though.

  10. You made me feel better. I was starting to worry that I was really behind on the potty training thing.

We've also had the potty chair sitting in our family room for months now. Emily's only interest has hiding her toys and snacks in it. My mom is coming to stay for 10 days in May while my hubby is away on a trip. Little does she know what she's going to be helping me with ;)

I love your garden. You've been buried under for snow for so long it must feel great seeing all that color popping up.
