summer preparations

Well, well! It's been a few days. We've been enjoying the spring weather, taking walks, smelling the hyacinths that have finally come up, and coloring eggs.

 

I'm also now on April vacation. It will probably make me long for a full summer vacation even more! Speaking of summer vacation, I'm already starting to prepare :D. I know if I don't start this far in advance, I'll be unprepared on that first beach day. Celia is going to love the beach this summer (we mostly go to small town beaches nearby), and I'm finding that while it isn't necessary, it is much, much easier when you have kids to be well organized and have the right gear at the ready for summer picnics, park trips, and trips to the beach. If I start now, I should be able to get things together by June...

Picnic blanket
Some kind of beach umbrella/shade thingy
Beach bag, mesh bag for toys
Cooler & thermos
Water shoes and bathing suit for pita (the shoes because I got really tired trying to get socks and regular shoes on her sandy feet at the beach last year)
Sunscreen
Bug repellant

Am I missing anything? Pita's going to be at a great age for little day trips this year. This summer will be so fun!

but don't let that fool you! I think she has molars coming in that are bothering her, and she has been very cranky today. Not like her at all, and she's been putting her fingers in her mouth and wanting to chew things with her back teeth a lot. I gave her some Tylenol in case her mouth really was bothering her. Hopefully she'll feel better after her nap.
