Celia and I had a long evening tonight since Blub was at school. When we got home this afternoon we played for a couple hours before dinner. We played a lot with her dolls, dollhouse, and Celia played in her room and in her kitchen. We had dinner (she ate mostly watermelon- not much variety but healthy at least), cleaned up, and I let her watch Caillou while I straightened up and wiped down the furniture and counters. Then we played some more, read books and had bedtime.
Celia really likes playing with her dolls these days. She calls herself their mommy and does all kinds of things with them. Her two dolls are "Baby" and Jenny. She really does take care of them like real babies. Except for those unfortunate incidents when they get thrown on the floor... Today Pita set the babies on their blankets on the floor, and came to me and told me to be quiet because they were sleeping. Then they woke up and Celia fed them.
She even burps them after they eat.
After that she decided they would have a picnic,
And then she and her babies played on the slide.
Sometimes she pretends one of the dolls is crying and we have to go feed it or hold it. She also likes cooking for them in her kitchen, and pretending to take them for walks and to the store. It's cute how she talks to them too, like I would talk to her. The best is when Celia explains to me that I'm her mommy, and she is Baby and Jenny's mommy. :D

She will be all ready to be a big sis, won't she? Very cute!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! I love how girls are just so naturally maternal like that. It's precious.

ReplyDeleteany chance celia's going to be a big sister soon? :)
Um, this is so adorable, there are no words. My girl will carry a baby doll for about 3 minutes and she's DONE. And the poor baby is lying on the ground somewhere.
ReplyDeleteYour girl?! BURPS THE BABY!! So smart and caring :)
Oh my, the burping picture is so cute!!! I love the imagination that dolls bring out in kids. I could play with them for hours when I was little.
