We had a nice Christmas with Blub's family. Celia was rarely without at least two people besides us to give her attention. She had a great time. In fact, one thing that's nice about having Celia around at Christmas is that she provides a good example of what holidays should really be about. Pita doesn't care one bit about presents or toys or new clothes. She had very little interest in her gifts. What she really wanted was to spend time with everyone. No toy could possibly be as fun and engaging as a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, or cousin.
So while it was like pulling teeth to get Pita to open presents (her favorite gift was actually the bag a gift came in, because it was a perfect fit for carrying her Elmo and Cookie Monster dolls), she was very happy to eat a special breakfast with Daddy,
hug Nonna,
read a bedtime story with a cousin,
take a walk with Zia,
dress up with Mommy (we got matching kitchen aprons),
and do a little re-decorating
and some tricks for her adoring fans.
Pita knows exactly what's important in life.

That is just too sweet! Dmitri definitely loves opening gifts...but its true: he really cares about the people.
