friday

Pita and I are having a nice day today. This morning we played for a while at home. I got out a new toy we've been saving that my parents got her. It's the Melissa and Doug birthday party set. Celia loves it. She has spent a lot of time playing with it today. When we first opened it, I showed her how to use everything and we went through the routine of having a party with a birthday cake. Soon she was playing with it all by herself. Pita wanted to have birthday parties for her kitties.

Black Kitty blew out the candles.
and everyone had cake!
After some play time we went to music class. This was the second class of the semester so we're learning new songs. Then we headed to the doctor's office for my flu shot, and finally home for lunch. Celia insisted that her kitties join her for lunch. This meant that I got to wash the kitties and put them in the dryer for a while while she had her nap :).

Celia has been doing some amazing new things with her language lately, and I have to document it so I can look back on it in the future. She has been using a lot of concept vocabulary, has started using pronouns, and is using more and more 3 word sentences. Here are a few that I wrote down today: "My sink" (pointing to her little kitchen), "I got it", "Kitty lunch too" (this is how she asked for her kitties to have lunch with her), "Daddy big. Celia little" (Wow! Amazing use of these concepts! She was talking about Chris's shoes and her shoes).

Later this afternoon I think we'll get out of the house again since we can't play outside. It's been raining for a few days and we need to keep busy! Celia has given up her daytime bottle at daycare, and has been drinking milk like a champ out of a new cup they got for her. I asked if she would drink milk out of a cup at home too and she said yes (we'll see about that...), so we decided that I would get a cup just like the one at daycare and see if she'll use it at home too. I think that will be our mission for this afternoon.

Tonight I'm hoping that Chris won't have too much work to do and we can actually spend time together. In the same room. At the same time. Ha! I need to accept that school is in session again and get used to it!
