fall fun

We have really had a fantastic weekend, mainly because Celia has been in such a great mood. She's a lot of fun these days.

On Saturday morning I went for a quick run- 3 miles worth of speed work. That was weird, by the way. It was a good workout while it lasted, but runs under 50 minutes seem like nothing to me now. After my run we got ready for some errands. I got a great deal on a warmer fall coat and a pair of mittens for Celia. This morning she tolerated wearing one mitten for approximately ten seconds...

The rest of the day was spent playing with blocks,

crawling like doggies,

doing lots of cooking,

and playing outside in the leaves and climbing on rocks. I got a lot of cleaning done, and got to go to sleep last night on clean sheets and under a freshly washed and line-dried quilt. So nice!

This morning I had a nice 5 mile run. It was cold enough that I broke out the running tights for the first time this season. I don't mind needing the tights or being a little chilly, but when I have to start strapping on my Yak Trax in a few months, the cold weather running won't be quite as fun!

We got a lot done around the house today, working on re-arranging and making some plans for the living room. And of course, there was a lot of play time. Celia frequently reminds us that she is a "big girl" now, and insists on sitting in a regular chair instead of in her booster. She's wanting to do a lot of things by herself these days. Yesterday she told Chris she was a big girl, and then said "Daddy big boy". That was nice of her.

Tonight we had maple-butternut squash-apple casserole for dinner. It was really good, but a little sweet so I'd definitely pair it with a savory side.

Busy week ahead, as usual. I need to get in more practice at painting Celia's face for Halloween. Tomorrow I have to pick up my watch from the mall, and we have various other to-dos as well as some fun activities in store this week. I'll also be sharing our upcoming and in-progress home projects soon!
