tuesday

Celia went to daycare for a few hours this morning. She loves it there so much. When I picked her up yesterday she had learned how to climb up the ladder and go down the little toddler slide all by herself. She also made a complete mess of herself. She loves playing in sand and dirt and had to be cleaned up a few times. Our daycare provider said that she told Celia she looked like Pigpen, and of course Celia ran around the yard saying "Pigpen! Pigpen!"

Yesterday Pita and I went shopping for barrettes. At first I thought they weren't going to work because she kept pulling them out. But this morning I put one in and told her to leave it there, and she left it alone almost all morning. She took it out once at daycare, but she brought it to Debi to put back in. Such a good girl!

While Celia was gone I ran 8 miles. It's still so hot and humid, but luckily my runs are going fine. Maybe this means I'll be able to run faster when cooler weather arrives? That would sure be nice.

After running I stretched, had a smoothie, showered, and ate an early lunch. I picked Celia up and we went home to play, read books, and have nap time. After that came more play and a trip to the farm to pick up our weekly share. We got a lot this week for just a half share: three ears of corn, tomatoes, cucumber, a huge head of lettuce, green beans, an enormous zucchini that I don't even want to use because they get tough at that size (maybe zucchini bread?), two yellow squash, garlic (we're going to have enough for the whole winter at this point), and a big carrot. We still have a carrot and a head of cabbage from last week, so we have some serious vegetable eating to do this week.

Celia sat on the counter munching on a green bean (she loves to snack on raw ones) while I started dinner: corn on the cob, summer squash and corn chowder, and fresh bread. We all ate when Chris got home and then we played some more and I put Pita to bed. A busy day, but a good one!
