a napping miracle

Things are back in order here after unpacking and making things normal after our weekend away. The goal for today was to get Celia to take one good, long nap. She has been alternating between one nap and two, sometimes refusing them altogether and then falling asleep in the car or stroller. At this point we have to try getting down to one consistent nap. This morning we went grocery shopping at Celia's typical morning nap time, to keep her busy and happy. It worked! It didn't seem like she missed the nap at all. Then we went out for a walk around 10:30 and ended up with this:

Oops! Luckily she was only asleep for about 5 or 10 minutes before I woke her up. I felt bad doing it, but I knew the official nap later would be a disaster if I let her sleep. She was actually okay with being woken up, and played until lunch time.

She held this letter "A" up to her neck and said "necklace" :)

I could tell she was getting tired when she got quiet and started snuggling with her stuffed animals and lying on the floor with her blanket. She was so good though- not one minute of clinging or crying like sometimes happens.

After lunch, I cleaned up and grabbed my phone to catch pictures of Celia putting her sock on the cat and wiping his nose.

Pita went down for a nap a little after 1:00. Hopefully she'll get at least two hours of sleep. Meanwhile, I've been packing lunches for tomorrow and making a pie because I had one pesky pie crust left in the fridge. What a shame to have to eat pie twice within one week... I'm also very excited about a summer milestone marked today, but I'll share that tomorrow!

  1. That is too cute! She is adorable (your daughter)! I really want to get a kitty - I think my son would LOVE it!
