Guess what this is?
Groceries! Not exciting, you say? Wrong! I was reading a book during Pita's nap this afternoon, when a grocery delivery van stopped out front. Out popped a very handsome young chap wearing a shirt and tie, carrying my groceries! With a free pie for our first order! I swooned as he carried them upstairs for me (okay, I really didn't swoon in the least and he wasn't really all that handsome. I just love the word "swoon"), presented my receipt, and disappeared into the hot, muggy, severe-weather-warning laden late afternoon haze.
Let's review what has occurred. My favorite grocery store has things I can't get elsewhere, but it's also a long drive from home. Shopping there is sometimes more than I'm up for with a baby in tow. Yesterday, I sat down with my grocery list and ordered online from said favorite grocery store. This afternoon, that nice young man arrived at just the right time during Pita's nap (how did he know? I think he has magical grocery man powers!) with all of my groceries. All I had to do was put them away. I got to put Celia to sleep, spend a couple of hours making dinner, doing housework, and reading my book with a delicious smelling candle burning, and then the grocery shopping was done!
I could get used to this.
Wow! That IS something to get excited about. How did you manage this! I want details... = )
ReplyDeleteI absolutely hate grocery shopping! I need to see if any of our local grocers will deliver!
