a long week over

The work week is over and I'm finished with the conference I've been at for the last two days. The conference was in an area I spent lots of time in during grad school and it was nice to be back there.

Today didn't exactly feel like a break because we packed up early and made the trip to visit Chris's family. Chris did homework while I went to his cousin's bridal shower. Long day, but Celia had a great time seeing her cousins, aunt, and her Nonna and Nonno. The bridal shower was fun- very small, and with a tea party theme. There were lots of little sandwiches and desserts, scones, and a table of pretty cups and teapots with all kinds of tea. Have you heard of T Salon? That's the kind of tea they had and it was SO good. I had a green tea blended with caramel, chocolate, butterscotch and vanilla. It was amazing, like drinking a dessert calorie free.

Chris will still be doing homework tomorrow and after work this week, so I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed without any time to get my own homework or housework done. I also haven't had any time to work out, which is probably for the better since my knee needed a rest.

Time to read for a while and get to bed early. Sounds like an exciting Saturday night, right? To be honest, it sounds heavenly to me.
