Today we were busy with Celia, things around the house, and a visit from Chris's parents. I also took lots of pictures so I'll throw some in here too :). I've really stepped up my workouts lately- both frequency and intensity. I hope it will start making a difference. I started weight training again and do the Core Secrets ab assault workout, plus elliptical and running. This morning I used the elliptical for 35 minutes and did my ab workout during Celia's nap. It was great to get a decent workout.
I also did a little work on a project I've wanted to get going on for a long time. My grocery shopping/organization/meal planning badly needs an overhaul. I've decided to start an inventory of everything in the pantry and freezer to make sure we use everything we buy. Things like grains, pasta and canned goods tend to pile up without getting used, which is such a waste of money. My long term goal diet-wise is to move even closer to a vegan diet, so I also need to find time to plan new menus and try recipes. I'll post more about this in the coming week :). If anyone out there has good tips for easy meal planning and organization I'd love if you'd leave a comment and let me know! I used to be so good at it, and now with a baby I've really been slacking.
Chris's parents came over after Celia's nap and we went out for lunch at a little cafe near us. It was really fun and that place has the BEST pastries, breads and muffins. We need to go again soon for breakfast! Celia spent a lot of time walking around today. She wants to be on her feet all the time now.
It still amazes me how much Pita is talking. Every day we find new words that she knows, and they come as a surprise because she picks up on things we never even realized she was paying attention to. Today she pointed to the keyboard on my laptop and said "letters"! I had never talked about letters being on the keyboard, so she had generalized the concept of letters from seeing them in books and recognized them on the keyboard. As a speech language therapist it is truly amazing to watch language development unfold in my own child.
After Celia was in bed tonight, Chris said to me "Wow, that was a really long day". Ha! Here I was thinking it was a nice easy day! And he didn't even have to feed her, put her down for naps or play with her all that much today. I think he still forgets how much work it is to being up and busy with Celia from 5:30 am until bedtime. He is always exhausted after a full day at home with her!
sounds like a perfect day!! :) cute pics of your little one!
